Before we get onto how I created my card I thought I would share this with you all... I don't and never have drank Coffee or Tea. In fact I really don't like the smell of coffee or the taste of anything made with coffee... So never get what all the fuss is about, lol..Strange I suppose to some of you but hey we all have little quirks...
I created my background using a stencil and gesso coloured with Black ink.
I stamped the 2 images onto circle die cuts and used 2 colours of Memento ink- Cocoa Brown and Black to create some depth to the teapot image.
Some Washi tape, 1/2 a doily and a Red Die cut Heart were added to finish.
Special Guest Designer: Amy Tsuruta
Thanks For Stopping By and Have Yourself a Great Day.xxx
Fabulous! 50's diner with the background and your banners look like a table -- well done!!
ReplyDeleteHad to come tell you how much I love that B/W pattern in the BG!
ReplyDeleteNever have drank coffee or tea? You have created a great retro card and I really like the saying.
ReplyDeleteFabulous look with the checkered background, washi tape and popping the tea and pot on the circles! Such a warm feeling from your card.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful card - these colours look amazing together, love the washi banners and black & white BG is very striking!! :)
ReplyDeleteYou don't...drink...coffee.... *jaw drop* I've never met your kind before. ;) I like your card a lot. I first saw it and it reminded me of a picnic for some reason. Probably the checker print?
ReplyDeleteI love that background...brings back memories of breakfasts with dad before school at the local diner -- it was always a treat! And as others have mentioned...I can't wrap my head around the no coffee thing. lol But then, people think I'm weird because I don't drink soda -- would much rather have water. :-)
ReplyDeleteYour checkered background certainly stirs warm memories of time spent in cafes with my grandparents. A wonderful showcase of this release, and it has all the more impact given you're not a coffee/tea fan. Love it!

The background remind me of the table from my mom and its cool set with that coffee and tea pot...lovely card Debra..and great idea behind your adorable card..
ReplyDeleteFantastic card and I love that sentiment. Amazing what a cuppa can do for making you feel a bit better x
ReplyDeleteThis is fabulous, Debra! I love the chequered background. I also hate coffee and anything coffee related. DH gets all the coffee flavoured chocolates that are left in the box. Unless I'm really desperate for a chocolate fix - I have been known to nibble all the chocolate off the coffee flavoured chocs!
ReplyDeleteFun. Love the checkered background and the pop of red.
ReplyDeleteThe checkered background is fabulous! Great card!
ReplyDeletelove the background - great card!
ReplyDeleteFab, love the black and white tiles, :)
ReplyDeleteNice background for the lovely front!
ReplyDeleteGreat card Deb! I'm with you on the coffee, never touched the stuff and can't stand the flavour. I don't mind a cup of tea now and then though :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I love this! It reminds me of a retro 50's diner! So fun!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a cool layout! I love the checker board pattern in the BG :)
ReplyDeleteYour card is really meaningful. I, too, love the way you positioned the checkered background. If I received a card like yours, I would treasure it!
ReplyDeleteThis card is so amazing! Love the black and white checker and how you included the sweet little red heart to take the warm wishes home and well....to the heart!
ReplyDeleteHi Debra. You really rocked this set, especially given that you don't like coffee!!! Love the chequered background. Have a great day! Hugs Monika xxx
ReplyDeleteHi, Debra! I agree with all of the other commenters - this is such a fun and graphic card. I have never liked coffee either; but I don drink tea, but stick to the regular blends. No fancy stuff for me! LOL
ReplyDeleteFun card! Makes me want to make a cup of coffee!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute card - love the black and white checked background.

I love the collage and background - fabulous! I can't live without my coffee, but only 1 a day. I'm sure you're healthier by going without!
ReplyDeleteLove the checked background to these fun stamps. Hugz
ReplyDeleteAwesome card. Milo perhaps? ;)
